THE BLUE CUSHION is an original Unframed 12" x 16" oil painted on high quality canvas. This is a beautiful painting about a dog and child looking at the house with the blue cushion. This painting was done “en Plein air”, meaning it was done on site in Lexington, Kentucky at their annual paint out. If you look at the photo showing the back of the painting, you will see a stamp “Paint The Town”. It was stamped the morning of the paint-out to authenticate it was painted on site. There were about 50 painters participating that day. After the canvas was stamped, my sister and I set up on one of the designated streets to paint. I finished the painting, that hot July day, in 5 hours. Then the painting was displayed along with all the others at a show in Lexington. When I got the painting home, I felt it needed something more. So I added the child and dog. The child can be a girl or a boy. This painting would look amazing in a room if you pick out some of the special colors and accent the room with pillows or a vase. It is painted on a high quality canvas panel. There is an impressionistic feel to the whole painting which is very pleasing. The paint is applied with bold strokes and the colors are striking.
