BIG SKY is a 11” x 14” Unframed painting on a a canvas panel. This is a wonderful painting of a bank of trees and the big sunlit sky after the rain. This painting was done plein air, which means it was painted outdoors on the site of the T C Steele State Park. On the back of the painting, you can see the stamp of the paint-out, marking the date and place. T C Steele was one of America's early impressionists. He settled in Nashville, Indiana and set up an art colony there There are wonderful highlights in the trees, as the sun shines thru the leaves. The sky is bright, as the rain clouds pass by and the sun comes out. This is an Impressionist painting, with soft, muted colors. It is painted on professional quality canvas panel and has a depth of 1/4".
